FLOWER BUTTERFLY BOXES

Inspired by spring blooms – My butterfly friendly take on a collectors butterfly specimen box. Gorgeous as a one off but even better displayed as a series.

Each frame is a one off unique piece – where each butterfly is cut from my own photographs of flowers which have been printed onto photographic paper. I have floated them on little plinths to create wonderful shadows. I adore the way they appear to flutter and move as the light changes. The touch of 24crt gold leaf on the antennae tips glistens and sparkles in the light and adds a precious touch to the piece. It comes in a box frame with a gold inlay to further add sparkle and define the piece.
